Simona Caldani is involved in research at the Institut Pasteur, focusing on the AUDIOGENAGE project, which aims to develop a comprehensive set of audiological tests for accurately diagnosing age-related hearing loss, known as presbycusis.
This condition primarily results from the natural aging of the auditory system, with approximately half of the cases attributed to genetic factors.
The project comprises a team of 14 members and is currently ongoing.
