Fanny Isaac
Présentation de Fanny Isaac
Mme Isaac Pereire, originally named Fanny, was a prominent figure in 19th century France, known for her connection to the beautiful deep pink Bourbon rose that bears her name.
Bred in 1881 by Armand Garçon, the rose was initially called ‘Le Bienheureux de la Salle’ before Jacques Julien Margottin acquired the rights and renamed it to honor Fanny, the widow of wealthy banker Isaac Pereire.
The Pereire family played a significant role in shaping France's financial and industrial landscape, with Fanny actively supporting her husband's banking ventures and engaging in philanthropy, including establishing hospitals and providing aid during harsh winters.
Despite facing anti-Semitism, she remained a generous and influential figure until her death in 1910, leaving behind a legacy intertwined with both commerce and compassion, as well as a stunning rose that continues to be celebrated today.
